Unwavering support for Tour de Yorkshire May 5, 2019

Thousands of people once again turned out to cheer on the riders as the four-day 2019 Tour de Yorkshire reached a grand finale with its finish in Leeds on Sunday May 5.

The final men’s stage started in Halifax and headed through the Yorkshire Dales visiting Haworth, Skipton, Kettlewell, Masham, Pateley Bridge and Otley.

Thousands cheer in the rain at the Day 1 finish in SelbyThe 2019 tour gets under way in DoncasterThursday's race to the finish in SelbyEarlier stages also provided a big Yorkshire welcome to the cyclists along the route of men’s and women’s stages between Bridlington, Whitby and Scarborough on Saturday, between Barnsley and Bedale on Friday and even in the pouring rain on Thursday at the end of the first men’s stage from Doncaster to Selby.

The tour is the first of two major cycling events to be held in Yorkshire in 2019. Yorkshire also hosts the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Road World Championships from September 22 to 29, 2019.
