King Charles III welcomed to Yorkshire November 9, 2022
Hundreds of people gathered in Centenary Square outside City Hall in Bradford as he arrived there as part of a two-day tour in which he visited four Yorkshire cities.
Before arriving at City Hall, he had visited the headquarters of supermarket group Morrisons at Gain Lane in Bradford.
After Bradford, the King visited Leeds at its Central Library near the Town Hall.
The new statue of the late Queen is set in the West Front of the Minster. Queen Elizabeth's title was Princess Elizabeth of York before becoming the monarch upon her father's death 70 years ago in 1952.
The King and Queen Consort were then welcomed in Doncaster for a visit to the Mansion House for the conferment of Yorkshire's newest city. Doncaster was selected as one of eight Jubilee Cities across the UK in honour of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and becomes the eighth city of Yorkshire.
