The heritage line between Keighley, Oakworth, Haworth and Oxenhope had visiting and Worth Valley-based locomotives providing a busy timetable of passenger trains, demonstration freight services and double-header journeys during the event. There were also talks and tours of the Haworth locomotive shed.

Featuring in the gala were two very similar classes of steam locomotive which were mainline workhorses of the latter days of the London Midland and Scottish railway and the early days of the nationalised British Railways. Two Jubilee and three 'Black 5' locomotives were on the line together with other steam locomotives from the railway's fleet.
