The new bus station in Halifax

Halifax bus station officially opened
July 26, 2024

It's been years in the making, but the new Halifax bus station has been officially opened.

West Yorkshire Mayor Tracey Brabin performed the official opening on Friday July 26 saying "Attractive and convenient facilities like this will help to get more people out of their cars and on to public transport, creating a greener and better-connected West Yorkshire."

The £20m project has been completed by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority in partnership with Calderdale Council and has 19 bus stands, new travel centre, toilet with disability features, waiting area, cycle parking and improved staff facilities. A newsagent will open in the coming weeks. The bus station has solar panels and a green roof with bee-friendly plants.
