The Conservative Party have gained an overall majority in the 2019 General Election.In Yorkshire, the Conservatives gained seats from Labour in Bishop Auckland*, Colne Valley, Dewsbury, Don Valley, Keighley, Redcar, Rother Valley, Stockton South* and Wakefield, also picking up Penistone and Stocksbridge, which was also a Labour win at the last election.
Despite their gains, the Conservatives were driven into third place behind the Brexit Party in the Labour held seats of Barnsley Central and Barnsley East.
