Yorkshire A to Y

Gazetteer

Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire  X

Realignments of boundary place small parts of historic Yorkshire within the present county of Nottinghamshire after they were moved into its Bassetlaw district, formed in 1974.

The small areas involved did not include any Yorkshire towns, villages or residential areas.

The realignment also involved an area of historic Nottinghamshire, immediately to the west of the Yorkshire town of Bawtry, joining Bawtry in the Doncaster district of South Yorkshire. This included several farms, Hesley Hall (once the home of a High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire) and an expanding residential area of Bawtry.

NO YORKSHIRE VILLAGES.
